The Oslo Green Belt refers to the network of green spaces, forests, parks, and ecological corridors that surround and connect the Oslo region. It plays an important role in protecting biodiversity, supporting urban nature, and maintaining ecological balance in and around the city.
Kongedugnad is a national initiative developed by The Royal Gardening Society of Norway that encourages children, schools, and communities to take part in gardening activities that support biodiversity and environmental stewardship. Inspired by the Norwegian tradition of dugnad, the program promotes collective care for nature through simple, educational outdoor activities.
Schools can participate in Kongedugnad by joining the program and taking part in simple gardening and outdoor activities designed to promote biodiversity and environmental awareness among students. These activities may include caring for outdoor spaces, planting, observing nature, and creative learning about the environment. Schools interested in participating can visit kongedugnad.no or contact us directly at hei@kongedugnad.no to learn more about the program.
